hate to say it, but id love an MR2 as well. mid engine rear wheel drive the ultimate for driver fun. but they cost a fortune in running costs and have a bad (but undeserved) rep for spinning off in the wet. tyres burn through quick and they need servicing every 5k (turbo ones). when i get some cash saved would love a rev3 turbo, or maybe a GT4. i just love them engines, bombproof!

heres a link to a fellas page check out some of his vids
http://www.btinternet.com/~netsurf/mr2t/videos.html

and another by a fella who records his track days all round the country, hes got a lotus but theres lots of MR2's (mainly spinning) if you root for the clips
http://www.btinternet.com/~netsurf/mr2t/videos.html

and a fella whos not scared of ragging his '2
http://www.turboforum.net/forums/dload. ... ccc987d768

im a massive fan of the MR2 i say if youve the cash for a turbo do it, if you havent save like mad and get one

its a hair dressers car!

u'll end up going backwards round corners

quite a common car to MAX up!

loved by max power readers!

awkward to work on the engine

only 2 seats!

shall i go on?

don't worry mate, i was thinking about getting on next but i have pulled myself together and no doubt,i am getting a G40!

cheers guys,
chubbster, to be honest mate your making me want one again, but, i think i'd rather have a bit of wet weather handling and just get a 16v engine for mine then do a bit of tunnin! Still lookin for one if anyone knows where i can get it?

ok a bit of logic free reasoning for you here :D

the only mr2 on sale anywhere near me is suffering from a blowing headgasket

therefore they're unreliable buckets of bolts and should be dodged at every opportunity

k?

Because you will crash it. Going from a 60bhp fwd car to a 200+bhp rwd car isnt a good idea.

To be honest i'd do this (the engine bit)

Image

and stop yourself looking like a hairdresser.

If you want rwd jap turbo power then do it properly, like a supra or SX/ZX.

Marty off here from Abderdeen recently wrote off his 16v. Engine is in (afaik) good condition.

However he didnt buy the car back off the insurance company so it will be in a scrappy somewhere in Aberdeen im sure.

You can usually find him at eastsidevw.co.uk

No need for an MR2 - instead of the 1.4 16v drop a 2.8 vr6 in instead - fun
