Blue GT New Tyres and TPMS

Post by PoloBlueGT »

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this subject. I have just got home after having some new tyres fitted to my Blue GT. After about 10 mins of a 20 min journey my tyre pressure light turned on, I went into the glovebox to reset but was unable too. I then phoned the garage National Tyres to ask whether they had fitted the valves that are compatible with TPMS. He then said that VW, Skoda Seat etc had an “indirect TPMS system” which wouldn’t be affected by the valves. To mention I have changed from run flats to normal tyres. Any help would be appreciated so I can get it rectified ASAP.

Thanks in advance

I seem to remember if you have reset the TPMS correctly, you will be prompted to say "YES" before the system starts taking in new data when you start driving, failure to do that second step will leave the data in the system that was in there originally.
