Indicators plink-plonk

Post by morrismen »

Anyone know how to bypass the indicators 'plink-plonk' sound when the indicators are switched on - An I don't mean wearing ear muffs or turning up the ICE system!

It is louder than on most cars and i'd like to silence it forever, even if it means sticking tape over whatever makes this plink-plonk sound. 8)

Any ideas?

is it an electronic noise, or the old click-clack style one?

if its a click clack, then thats the actual sound of the relay turning on and off, it's not there for effect! you'll have to get hold of an electronically switched one to get around that

as for a falsely generated one i.e. coming off some small speaker behind the dash... find some wire cutters, just be sure it's not also the oil pressure sounder..

Thanks, it's the click clack of the relay then. It is rather louder than I've had on previous cars. Think I will have to live with it. Thanks again.

its why you rarely see a polo going down the motorway with one of the indicators flashing uselessly away :D
