This was the first time doing an autoscan so some of the faults could have already been there since I bought the car off the previous owner. Should I be worried?

I am sure I didn't mess with anything and I backed up original settings.

do you still have an autoscan with the original coding of your 085 BCM? because I have the idea you didn't copy BCM coding and CAN gateway installation list.
I'm suspecting you did a bad BCM swap, but that can be fixed.

I didn’t do an auto scan with my 085 BCM but I took screenshots of the installation list and copied down the coding. I successfully changed the installation list and coding back to the stock BCM after installing the 087 BCM

I still have power to the door and horn etc ?

Cleared all the fault codes and only HVAC one appears now after rescan. I know my AC system is faulty ... so the BCM replacement went ok?

I suppose so. Most errors were flagged as intermittent and they were not making a lot of sense to me.
If they dont re-appear, it seems like your BCM upgrade was successful.

Also, is it hard to fit a wireless key remote system? My polo didn’t come with a wireless unlocking system

your new BCM supports remote key locking.
however, you'll probably have to replace your keys. This will probably require learning new keys to the immobiliser.
