My partners 1.6 TDI Polo has s rusted and cracked down pipe ( it is the one piece one that has the dpf flexi and then Cat all in one pipe). Has anyone replaced this? How easy a job is it? Does the subframe have to be dropped to allow removal?

Yes, subframe needs to go out.
