DOORS LOCKING/UNLOCKING PROBLEM

Post by firebulletz »

Hi everyone,
Here we are with a new problem :(

A few days ago I mounted the lights under the doors connecting them to each door in the corresponding pin of the lock / window connector (the positive in the window glass and the negative at the lock connector.
I add that for some time I had a problem at the driver's side door: when I opened it did not immediately turn on the interior lights, as if the machine did not detect the opening of the door, and turn on after about 5 seconds. Sometimes 5 other 10 etc etc.
The same evening the left rear door is locked, without the possibility of unlocking it. I noticed before the light was on even when the door was closed, so it meant that the door remained closed for the car? And central locking did not work either by remote control or by key. As soon as I get home, the door does not open anymore.
I disassemble the panel and after several tests I break the lock and open.
Yesterday I noticed that the hood did not even open, the impulse is not given when I try to open it.
Today I fitted a lock to the door just arrived and the door opens and closes, but if I connect the light is still on.
I reset the control unit but the central locking continues not to open and close and the bonnet is always locked.
The driver's door have the same problem.

Scanning me gives me one and only error, I leave it attached

I think that as with most car manufacturers, you need to replace a door lock with the exact correct version of what was already fitted to that car, worse than that, buying copied non VW Group locks seems to cause trouble.

Really if I were you, I would have sorted out all that car's locking problems before adding the puddle lights, so maybe temporarily disconnect all the extra new wiring that you have fitted, repair all that car's locking problems, then try adding back in the wiring for the puddle lights.

I disconnected all the added cables. I have mounted original vw door lock.
Is it possible that there is a problem on fuses, cables frayed or main doors locking unit (if exist)?

Cable fraying - yes, is so inside the rubber protector at the hinge end of the door(s).

If you buy a new VW lock, then if it is the driver's door lock, it should have some of the controller parts fitted inside it - but yes, there will be another control module somewhere else, maybe within the Comfort Control Module, or Convenience Control Module, though hopefully VCDS would have found a fault, so I'd guess that your car has frayed wire(s) and that needs sorting first.

Edit:- actually your scan tool has found a fault associated with the central locking system, even though it is a bit vague. Sorry I forgot that it is a 6R Polo that you are working on, this function used to be hidden inside the CCM on older cars.

do you think that i have to disassemble everything and check all the cables concerning the door closures? where is the comfort control module located?

I think that I suggested that the locking controller will not now be within the CCM, but either within the BCM which replaced the CCM or it could have its own controller - I have not examined that area of the car's wiring system.
