Hi
Looking to purchase a used Polo 65 plate (Nov 2015). I'm looking to see if there is any way of adding Apple Car Play to the vehicle.
I've seen you can retrofit an RCD330 but getting conflicting information if the 65 Polo is compatible as RCD330 only supports PQ35/46. I believe the Polo I'm looking at is a 6C (facelift version?)

Also I have seen that you may be able to activate the standard compostion media to have App Connect - Car Net.
Advice would be appreciated, Thanks.

Re: Apple Car Play
The polo 6c is a pq26 based car.
Some of the units that come with 6c cars have app connect built in but may need activating.
It will be in the menu if it can / has it.

Re: Apple Car Play
Hi
Thanks for your reply.
If it doesn't have App Connect, can I simply order an RCD330 unit and fit that replacing the standard composition media system?
Or would it be more trickier than it sounds?
Thanks, JDX

Re: Apple Car Play
I don't think it would work but not 100% sure it won't.
The 6c has it's brains in the glove box and just a screen in the dash.
So most of the connections are in the glove box.
There are also a lot of the car controls are done via the head unit so could lose a lot of those functions.

Re: Apple Car Play
Ah damn
Is there any way of somehow getting Car Play in a Polo?
Hopefully the car in question has App Connect. Will soon find out once it's moved to my local dealership.
Thanks

Well you can change the brains in the glove box and then get it programmed to the car.
This is what I have done but not got the app connect enabled yet.

Unless they have access to the vw mothership computer they won't be able to get it to work.JDX98 wrote: Sun Nov 11, 2018 5:24 pm Hi Dink

There is another thread on here where I explain exactly what I had to do.
