Re: New Polo GTI Mods Discussion
I suppose the obvious question is if you need more power, why not buy a more powerful engined car in the first place?

The 2.0T 200 HP is the most powerful engine in this body shape.
If there was a more powerful version I would have bought it.

Re: New Polo GTI Mods Discussion
Regarding the mods, as far as I know no one is making ECU remap yet but there should be something this spring. I will for sure mod my ECU and throw out GPF...
I already put the H&R springs. As for other mods, no idea
Oh, I will have exhaust ready soon

Have you seen many 1 year old performance Golf's on the forecourt? They cost as much a a new one with broker discount.
I've got a px value of £16k for my Golf R in May, it'll be on the forecourt for £19k - when it'll be 4 years old.
£21k *what you can buy a new GTI+ for with Brescias and metallic paint from DTD or similar is 2 year old Golf GTI/GTD territory on the franchised forecourt.
It's just not worth buying a nearly new (less than 1 year old) performance Golf instead of a new one. Same story with the Polo GTI+ with thd level of discount and anticipated residuals based on 50% GFV at 3 years.
Also, for those who PCP, the used car interest rate is usually approaching 10% APR.

How much do the insurance companies tag on for your mods Peter? In the UK, they add a lot to your insurance premium.peter007 wrote: Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:54 pm Regarding the mods, as far as I know no one is making ECU remap yet but there should be something this spring. In Poland, insurance companies don't charge extra for mods like that. You don't even have to tell them you did something...monkeyhanger wrote: Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:58 pm

Or I could get a 10 year old M3 for the same money... That's not the pointbarrywi wrote: Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:15 pm Or buy a more powerful one year old Golf for the same money?
To be honest with you, if I wanted to buy a Golf-sized car, I would have bought a Golf
But this is a fourth car in the family and I don't buy second hand cars. I like to be the first who farts in my seat
If you don't want to mod your Polo, you don't have to, but why question the fact when someone else wants to?

Peter: I'm sure we'd see a lot mire nodding here in the UK if our insurers took that stance. Anything that is considered to enhance performance of increase desirability to thieves is declarable to the insurer and they decide how much extra to charge.
