Steering Wheel "Peeling"

Post by Crisis »

I got in my car this morning (T Reg 6N) and while I was driving the top section of the wheel all the rubbery type stuff the coating was just coming off in little rubbery bits onto my hand, it was quite horrible.

I havn't put anything on it, or treated it with anything. But the top part of the steering wheel is peeling its skin. Not in big chunks or anything, its just flaking off.

Any ideas?

Other than 'replace it', I'm clueless.

If you want a cheap option, check out a breakers yard, Mk3 Golf wheels fit on too.

Yeh its the standard wheel with Airbag. Seems okay today. I may put some leather care stuff on it. I think its just residue left today so I may smooth it off and hopefully it will be okay.
