2015 polo tsi DSG - rev bounce when breaking

I’ve just picked up a 2015 polo tsi DSG.

I’ve noticed when I break the Rev meter jumps
Up and then down, I don’t feel or hear the engine reving up or down but see the needle
Jump up and then settle back, is this common or could it be something?

I can't help thinking this is the car changing down gears.....
Revs will rise as it engages the lower gear, then the revs will lower again as the speed decreases.
No offence, but are you new to driving?

Thanks for reply, I’ve been driving for 26 years and 20 years on autos and VWs.

It’s odd the Rev needle should go down smoothly and not jump up and then down...
