Polo 2010 wont start

Post by christine_x7 »

I have a polo 1.2 won't start. Got mobile mechanic out who checked valves with clients presser first one was like 20 and next two has nothing. He said it's best to replace the whole engine. Is this right ? Surely there must be something else. I'm desperate for advice please from u educated guys thank you.

I can't comment about how easy it would be to swop over that other engine code in your car but, with any used engine, there will always be the risk that it is near the end of its life or even already faulty, so why don't you contact a proper VW Group Indie, and there will be some near you, and discuss your problem and see if they think that it makes any sense to repair that engine.

Edit:- remember this failure occurred when trying to start that engine, so the damage will probably be limited to lots of bent valves in the cylinder head, along with the need to replace the chain, tensioners and any other obviously now upgraded parts - if you are lucky.

Why don't you try taking the advice I offered you, ie get someone that knows something about these engines to sort it out, getting cheap and cheery kerbside fitters out is normally not good enough unless you are very lucky.
