Power steering loss
Hi All. My 2103 polo 1.4 has been stood for 18months, after an accident. That involved nsf wheel and suspension damage. Originally, all wishbone and strut was changed. I’ve come back to it to change the airbags, but there’s now no power steering. I’m sure it was fine when parked up. To add, the airbag install isn’t finished, and the airbag module isn’t connected up. But there’s no fault codes. There’s no visible damage to pump or rack. Where would you start?

Re: Power steering loss
All I can say is that I've read about that happening before after a crash, so maybe Google could guide you to so possible answers, remember that the SEAT Ibiza 6J and Skoda Fabia MK2 are the same cars, and even earlier Polo 9N, Ibiza 6L and Fabia MK1 should have suffered in the same way - so more scope for possibly finding answers.

Re: Power steering loss
Thanks. I think I’ve found the answer. It appears that the power steering won’t work when the airbag module is disconnected. So hopefully, once the module is plugged in, it should fire up.
