Updated Performance Gearbox and Clutch Rumours 6c GTI?

Hey guys,

So I’ve heard through the grapevine that there may be a company in Germany that have made an updated performance gearbox and clutch to handle a bit more power that normal. I can’t remember where I’ve heard this from but have heard it from a couple of people now. Does anyone know of this company or heard the same rumours? Would be good to know as I’m definitely interested in this!! I’ve looked at HG motorsport but looks like they’ve just modded the car to is absolute limit. Unless there is another page I’ve not found on this topic!

Im guessing you are talking about the dsg box.

Tvs has changed to a dq250 in one but you're looking at 4k+ for that.

You can get an uprated clutch from luk but still has a limit of 470Nm (have heard they can still be hit or miss)

The gearbox itself is fairly reliable (can suffer from mechatronic failures)

Yes it is the dsg gearbox, I think maybe I have that problem at the moment, very clunky going in to 2nd and 3rd gear and if I push it hard I get emissions light and limp mode lol. Tbh I’m looking at anything as I’m planning on keeping the car for a while With a few mods planned

I still believe that your limp mode is causes by the map. This is why APR do not offer a map for the 6c dsg, the car kept going it limp mode to protect the gearbox.

So, Update. Limp mode was caused by an aftermarket part which the Volkswagen dealer fitted for me. It was a little box that was plugged in to the throttle pedal which was causing interference between the two magnets on the pedal (this is what I was told by the company that fixed the problem for me). I have my broken gearbox now and I am looking in to a company who may be able to make the parts for me to make it stronger for the gearbox and then go for an uprated clutch. Will keep people posted.
