I'm in the market for a second car and after discounting the 1.4tsi twin charge after reading up on the engine I'm looking at the 1.4 turbo (150bhp) slightly less fun but much more reliable and cheaper to run!
Autotrader lists 2 trim levels with this engine (I believe) the BlueMotion Tech and the BlueGT.
I've done a search and I can't figure out the difference, are they the same? Or am I being a bit dumb?
Thanks in advance

Re: BlueMotion Tech Vs BlueGT
Bluemotion technology is the term used by VW for fuel efficiency and CO2 / emissions reduction technology such as ;
- stop start systems
- brake energy recuperation systems
- turbocharging
- design features to improve aerodynamics
- low rolling resistance tyres
Most - if not all - VW cars will have these bluemotion technology features (my Polo GTI does). The Polo Blue GT model will also have these bluemotion technologies.
Just to confuse things, VW also have specific Bluemotion models where the emphasis is very much on fuel economy. It will incorporate the above technologies, plus they will be aerodynamically optimised to reduce wind resistance and maximise fuel efficiency. There are 6r/6c Polo Bluemotion models (the 6r had a Diesel engine and the 6c, a three cylinder petrol engine) which are fitted with the R-Line and Blue GT style side skirts, a tailgate roof spoiler, and model-specific front grille and alloy wheels that are aimed at improving aerodynamics and fuel economy.

Re: BlueMotion Tech Vs BlueGT
Thanks for clearing that up, so if it's the 1.4tsi 150bhp engine it's the blue GT with BlueMotion features.
Just need to find one to buy!

When you find one and need to arrange insurance, you may find that some price comparison sites and insurers vehicle make model information lists describe it as a Polo Blue GT 1.4 150ps Bluemotion Tech. My GTI was described as a 1.8 192ps Bluemotion Tech and that confused me at the time!

Re: BlueMotion Tech Vs BlueGT
Hey,
The BlueGT is a fab little car and pretty quick for a 1.4tsi ! I have had mine for just over 2 months and I absolutely love it, mines got the dsg gearbox which makes the acceleration incredible! Great little food looking car! And pretty economical too. Hope you find one soon!
