2012 polo boot wont open with fob or handle

Any suggestions? I've already changed the latch and no luck, been quoted £300 by vw for a diagnostic

You would need to check under the hatch trip for corroded/broken wires and connectors, also to make sure that the correct voltage signals are getting through to the hatch - ie no broken wires where they pass through the rubber protector, maybe feel it firmly to see if you can feel a broken lead.

Also, if the lock adjustment is too tight, the unlatch mechanism might not be able to release, so try tripping the latch with the hatch open, then see if the fob and the switch untrips it.

Edit:- trip using a big screwdriver and not fingers!
