Im thinking about fitting a thatcham cat 1 alarm to me polo but alot of them ask if it has a thatcham approved immobiliser installed. Is the key coded immobiliser on mk4 polos thatcham approved does ne1 know ??
oh yea mines a 1998 R 1.4 Cl if that makes any difference
cheers for your help, but i rang gap security about getting a Cat1 Clifford avatel maxx 1 and they said that on mk4 the key coded immobiliser is not Cat approved at all. So had to have the whole kit alarm and immobiliser As long as it keeps the thieving chavs knicking my car i dont mind
i got a clifford 300 off my old nova i wanted to put on here,do i have to get the immobiliser replaced as well ?????????? and if so can i not just get rid of it completely?
cheers
I've been reliably informed that the uprated models (1998 onwards?) all have cat2 immobilisers - so you should be able to get a cat2 to cat 1 upgrade which is a lot cheaper.
£190 ??????? f*****g hell i dont even want the immobilisor on it u just want my clifford alarm on it! can i not just get it taken off? and if so would it have to be done by VW or just by an alarm company?
