So, I’ve retrofited the electric folding mirrors, everything is fine, aside one thing, when folded (switch left on fold state) , if I start driving, they automatically unfold at exactly 60km/h, and that’s a bit “late” if you ask me.
Therefore I’ve tried looking at the BCM’s adaptation (thinking speed would go through there), and I can’t find anything with 60 in it.
They fold back (via comfort locking when locking the car, if I want them to).
Only problem, is that 60kph configurable?

this is interesting. i never know that it will automatically unfold at 60 kmh. looking forward to know more[emoji1362]

Re: Folding mirror unlock speed threshold
In my 6R with OEM folding mirrors there is a byte/bit in 09 - long coding (Danish version of the VCDS software), where you can "tell" the mirrors not to be folded at a certain speed (can't remember exactly which byte/bit). This speed setting can not be changed to another value…..

Yes the setting Peter refers to however doesn't let you fold the mirror when going faster than 15km/h, byte 3 bit 6

Folding mirror unlock speed threshold
i think mine will still fold (while driving) if i switch to fold. so that means my byte/bit value is 0?

Maybe mine are just dumb coded lol, but what is the default behaviour with the fold switcher?
Mine fold and unfold if I manully switch them whenever, regardless of the speed, but when switched to folded, they unfold only at 50kph. It seems to be 50 actually, not 60 (in the video though, I guess it was a delayed response from the BCM in this video
@benzinkopf, yes, same here. They will fold/unfold whenever I swich them, regardless of the speed.

I found these options in my central electric (09) module:
Adaptions - access control 2:
Funk Spiegelanklappen: active (Radio mirror flaps)
Menuesteuerung Funk Spiegel anklappen: active (Menu for Mirror Fold in radio settings)
Menuesteuerung Komfortbedienung einstellbar: adjustable (Menu forl Comfort control adjustable in radio settings)
Funk Spiegelanklappung Modus: by look command via remote control key (Radio Mirror Attachment mode)
Profilfunktion für Anklappung der Außenspiegel: active (Profile function for folding the exterior mirrors)
Spiegelanklappung geschwindigkeitsabhängig: not active (Speed Dependent Mirror Folding)

Re: Folding mirror unlock speed threshold
Ok. So I’ve figured it out.
The reason my mirrors would not “follow” the “fold in when parked” setting is because I had the speed threshold setting enabled.
Spiegelanklappung geschwindigkeitsabhangig, active.
Change the above to active if you want them to only unfold above a certain speed (50kmh).
Its nice but, 50kmh is way too late for me. I often find myself manually unfolding them because I’m in a parking lot and need to get out.
