2014 Polo BlueGT throttle slight flat spot?

Post by edward918 »

Recently bought a Polo BlueGT with the 1.4tsi 150ps engine. I've noticed a slight delay in throttle response when between 1 - 2k revs. I'm also finding it tricky to pull away in 1st gear, unless I rev the engine to about 2k rpm, which I'm not used to doing since my previous polo was n/a. Could this be down to a simple bad habit, or should I get the car checked out by the main dealer?

Update: Car feels far more responsive now that I added 99 octane fuel, strange that!

Pretty sure the advised RON will be 97-99 as that's what's on the inside pf my fuel flap on my 6c GTI.

Over the last 18 months I've seen the development of a big hesitation (almost a mis fire ) just after I've started the car and driven off after finishing work. This only happens during warm weather, it does it just once and the hesitation is worse the hotter the weather. What's even more bizarre is that its never done it anywhere else other than when starting and driving away from work during warm weather (25 c or hotter). The car has just been serviced with no improvement to the problem.

Must admit I didn't mention this to the VW dealer as I'm sure they would have thought I'd gone mad

ive had that since pretty much day one of owning the car.

i think it is linked to a transition between the port and direct injectors.
