Res Deletes

Post by ColGTI6C »

Had my 6C GTI for a couple of months now. Has seen posts on various Facebook forums about a res delete pipe from Euro Car Parts, that's from a 1.2 diesel, that supposedly works on the GTI? Has anyone done this, or would I be better getting a more reputable manufacturer? Or something from eBay? Car is still under warranty, so not sure, if it's allowed?
Cheers, for any replies.

There is a couple aftermarket exhausts for the 6c 1.8 gti which would probably suit you better, scorpion and milltek to name a few.
This is obviously dependent on your price range.

For my 6c BGT I went to an exhaust specalist and got my boxes cut out, resonator and muffler, and some trickery was done to manufacture a nicer sound, cost me about £280.

If you want the best possible outcome with it still being road legal then I'd opt for a full aftermarket exhaust rather than just a res delete, but if the downpipe is on euro then you can always return it if it doesn't work (which I doubt it will seeing as its the difference between a 1.8 turbocharged petrol engine making 180+bhp and a 1.2 diesel making half of that)

Cheers for the reply. I have spoken to a local guy, who makes stainless exhaust systems. He makes and sells full systems and various parts for lots of different performance cars and hot hatches. He said the res deletes, that he does for a 6C GTI are popular, as he sells them online. He says he could get me one and fit it for around £70, so might try this. not looking for a loud exhaust, just something a bit better than standard!!
