Thanks for these words of encouragement - I must admit the uk-polo site can be a bit gloom and doom. The majority of seatcupra.net people seem to enthuse (rant and rave) about their Seats and live with the niggly problems.
My view is that if you want ultra-reliable, buy Japanese - but most affordable Jap cars have very little character. Prior to my Seat I always had Jap cars - now I think I'll stick to VAG cause I like the 'feel' of the cars - even a 'cheapy' Polo has a certain feel good factor.
Anyway, regarding your comment, if you look at the top of this post, you'll see my Polo is a 52 reg - isnt that an 'early' one for a 9N shape - ie will I be lucky to be trouble free .....
ps - I've now driven the car for a week (mainly local with some experimental driving, fast and slow ...) - my mpg is showing 54.6mpg !
New member .... just bought a 1.9 TDi Sport
Although it's been to the garage a number of times, and although it rattles here and there, I still wouldn't swap my car for another model (well, go on then, an Ibiza Cupra R Diesel, if you're offeringNelson_Wilbury wrote:However, I always tried to look at the benefits of the car and enjoy what did work/when it worked, hence the reason I bought another one, which apart from some stiching coming loose on the seat has been fine! There seems to be far too many Killjoys on here nowadays content on reminding us every day how unreliable and awful there cars are.
Oh, and it's acceptable to complain about everything, all the time... we're (most of us) English... we didn't get the reputation as "whinging pommes" for nothing you know.
