Anyone Out there with a pair of Derby Steel Bumpers??

Post by VF_Marshall »

Hi,

I'm restoring an early Derby (Round headlamps) , and it needs a pair of Chrome Bumpers, as the originals are totally rotten beyond repair. Does anyone out there have any? or am i the only one in the UK with one of these!

Cheers

Try one of the VW magazines that specialise in Bettle's and Karmann Ghia's (top motor) flick to the back pages and there are plenty of companies that should be able to help.

Hi,

Cheers for the reply, Des - I managed to get a NOS front bumper from germany :) and i'll get the rear refurbed.

I guess there's not many out there with 2 Derby's in bits and pieces! I've got an original 1981 CLS (owned since 1987) and a freebie 1978 GLS that has a better shell, but is mechanically knackered..

well why not take the shell and strip it for parts and then stick a silly engine in it and use it as a track car
so thet the other isnt nicked as you mod it and also keep insurance down

if your into that kind of shuf that is

I onwed a 1977 1.3 GLS, with immaculate chrome bumpers, unmarked beige interior, sliding sunroof and a bullet proof engine - it couldn't half go

What did I do, sold it bought a Mk2 Polo. Would have been worth a fair bit of cash now - the things you do when you're young
