Big Boar Universal Exhausts

Post by sylonien »

Yo! Here I have a discussion about these ridicolously large (5") exhausts from manufactures like RAGE or SAVAGE, which can be found at Motor World stores or other places.

Something like this -> The RAGE Speedmaster SS-X25, which has a 5" tip and a 30cm round box.

Will these things fit a Polo?! I really do like the look of them and the sound!! :P And I've always wondered how the hell do they fit them under the car? I really don't like the "look" of the standard one, with that 1/2" tip and it's bent!!! LOL

Yo??

Please don't!! Anything above 3" just looks daft!! - And won't sound right, won't perform well, will cost money, etc...

Yes yo! One of my opening words. :P

Oh didn't know that it would affect performance. How about...

4" tailpipe

he he

i looooveeee the sound of jap back boxes. however, i think u need a big engine to match that 5" zorst. scoobys sound awesome cus theyve got a 2.0 and turbo.

i was actually thinking of 4.5" as it looks just right (as jap style tends to look smaller due to the thin metal tailpipe)

Same here, love the sound too! But I didn't know it would be affected by the engine!!

But can they be fitted under the Polo though? 'cos there's like no space!! :(

u can fit anything on a polo. ull just need the bumper to be cut slightly. a member on here has a powerflow twin3" and he had to get it shaved slightly for a snug fit.

go for it if u like it! :)

Oh right... interesting.... well I would like to have a twin exhaust or a (at least) 4" big boar.

I thought you might have to cut the bumper, but another thing that worries me is how do you actually fit those things on? 'cos well... I just don't have a clue about exhausts - noob. :)

Well how much would THAT cost then?? I'm quite low on budget, just got a new Alpine "swing" headunit (9813-RB) or something like that. Quite cool. 8)

I'm disappointed. I was hoping to see a big boar in an exhaust!

(A boar is a wild pig kinda thing, by the way. Bore is what you mean)

Big exhausts are stupid. Stick with your standard one or get an exhaust tip. Money saved :)

My spelling isn't that sharp either but that reply made me laugh - I'd have posted summut similar but I got accused of "another sarcastic reply from B'stardchild" last time I did so I'm being carefull from now on

I was expecting to see an exhaust you could hide a small child in tho ..... oooops sorry

Agreed - all the important work is done at the other end (manifold) there is an optimum bore size for cc to keep a smidge of back pressure - god knows what it is - time for a web search I think

Well oh right oh right.

But I just don't like the look of the standard one, well if you can see that in the first place! It's just looks stupid.

5in
trust me it'll probably end up sounding like a nova or orion, rage are very raspy exhausts (my mate has one on his modded civic, and its loud)
but if you want loud then go for it, but not the 5in tailpipe!!!
each too their own though
