Hi Guys,
I have a polo BlueGT 6R that I am upgrading the front brakes on to accommodate larger 312mm discs.
Now, from what I can see the caliper itself looks the same on a 312 setup - it looks like only the carrier needs to be changed but I can’t be sure.
Has anyone does this before to know if I need to change just the carrier or do I need both carrier and caliper change ??
Part codes would be great if anyone knows them !
Thanks

Re: Polo BlueGT front brake upgrade
Interesting! Something that I'll maybe do after getting a re-map. I've just fitted new Brembo max coated discs with black diamond pads all round, so won't be for a while yet! I can't be sure, but going by other VW Models, I'm pretty sure you'd only need the different carriers and bigger backing plates from a GTI. You'll also probably need to update the VCDS coding on your ABS system.

Re: Polo BlueGT front brake upgrade
You can change just the caliper carrier for a 6R GTI with 312mm brakes (my 2013-2014 cthe engine), 6C GTI or from a 6R wrc.
Calipers and pads are the same. You also need to change your abs coding.

Thanks for the info guys. OK I found some carriers, part code 6R0615125B but these are for 310mm - I have 312mm discs. Will they not clear with only 2mm difference ??
