Rear window wash has stopped working on 2013 Polo 1.2
I have changed the pump. Both new and old pumps run and wash the front windscreen, but no pump activation when I try the rear
When you activate the rear wash, you get a single swipe of the wiper but nothing else.
This seems to have occured since the car was serviced by a mobile mechanic:
I am guessing it could be the switch on the steering column and that this is a job for a pro?
A friend had a crazy idea that the mechanic may have done something stupid resetting the service trip with his computer. Is this even a possibility.

Re: Rear window wash
If possible it would be good to be able to run a full "all modules" scan on that car using either the proper VW scan kit or VCDS.
So, the rear wiper works as normal, ie you press down the stalk and the rear wiper gives a single wipe every few minutes, but when you press the talk further down and hold it, nothing happens other than the wiper, once again, gives a single wipe and no washer activated?
Sounds a lot like the stalk has failed, and from reading these Polo/Ibiza/Fabia motoring forums, I'd guess - only a guess though, that the root cause of this problem is the wiper stalk assembly, a common failure it seems!
So maybe save the money you would have spent on a scan, and use it on a new wiper stalk.
Edit:- I've never needed to sort this out, but I'd guess that the steering wheel will need to come off, and that includes disconnecting and removing the airbag, if you are not happy doing that, then it will be a pro's job.
There will be a few different stalk assemblies depending on which options/functions that individual car has.

Re: Rear window wash
Thanks
My conclusion too is that its the stalk..
Not sure if I can take the brave pill and deal with the airbag.
I will check out Youtube before making the final decision.
