Tuning Box Install - Engine Sensor Locations 6C GTI

Post by SamEvans »

Hi all,
Just got my TMC tuning box reprogrammed for my 6C GTI after the success with it in my old 6R 1.2 TSI.
Can anyone tell me the location of the Boost and Intake Manifold Sensors for this box to plug into. I’m hoping i don’t have to take the undertray off but I’m starting to think I will need to.
Seemed awfully easy on the 6R!
Thanks

Are you kidding? Your tuning box location in the trash. She wants a power rider who does a normal remap.

Another wasted reply, the figures are actually very promising. I have a full custom remap booked in 2 weeks, if it does the job I will be cancelling. It provides plenty of power in my old 6R!

Tbh I'd never fit a tuning box to a petrol car.

You will get more power from the custom remap as it uses the data from all the sensors rather than just a couple and fudging the data to trick the ecu into making more power

@Dink Thanks, just worried that 250bhp / +90nm will kill my clutch. It’s a manual...any stage 1ers not had issues? This site seems to be littered with 6c GTIs with APR maps (mine will not be APR) and later getting clutch issues.
In South Wales too btw, seem to remember you were too. Where did you map yours?

Apr do seem to extract quite a decent torque gain from the 1.8.

If you are going custom they should be able to tune it to tame down the torque to prolong clutch life.

Mine is still running stock map going straight to stage 3

@Dink Good shout, will ask them to dial it down a little.
Let me know how you get on with stage 3, I hear stage 1 basically bumpers a Golf R which is impressive!

It's going in the beginning of next month for a new clutch and flywheel and a lsd.

Then it's just getting the turbo fitted and tuned.

Might try get some of the poly bushes fitted in the mean time aswell.

Should be decent enough, looking to try get 400bhp
