High/low Engine Revs after startup
Right, I have a mk 4 polo 2008 1.2l petrol VW polo. Sometimes when I start the engine the engine Revs surge to around 1800 for 2 seconds or so before settling to normal idle speed and sometimes when I start the engine it seems as if the engine is struggling to start as the revs sit at around 800 or so for a moment while spluttering then eventually make it up to idle speed after 2 seconds or so. Is this behaviour normal? And if not, what could the problem be? My engine has never failed to start in the 8 months I've had the car but couldn't fail to notice this behaviour I've never come across before.
