Strange noise on accelleration

Post by Quicksilver »

Hi to all you mechanical geniuses out there

Recently, I've been hearing a strange noise on acceleration. The harder I accelerate, the louder the noise. Difficult to describe the sound.

When driving I don't think I can hear it but sometimes I think that I can hear a soft sound, Maybe I am listening too hard and imagining it. Revving the engine when stationary does not produce the sound.

The car is a 1995 (Dec) GTi DSG and has covered just 9,500 miles

Any ideas?

Anyone have an ideas?

I cannot hear the noise when I am stationary and rev the engine. Does that point to a problem in the transmission?

The noise sounds a bit like air being sucked in. Is that possible?

I know little about the mechanical side of cars and don't want to be completely ignorant when I take it into the garage.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Don't mean to be rude but guess the sound is a game hardly ever ending with a solution. I'd recommend to see a mechanic

Yeah, I guess so. Just thought that I would ask. The more you know when you take a car to the garage, the less you get ripped off
