But thanks for meeting me half way on the distance when I wanted to collect the wheels - doing a deal I could afford and for showing me round your car - for the benefit of anyone else he's not "ICY " Polo for nought

I'm very happy with the look - I kept the bump strips when everyone said get rid cos I wanted the black and white look (and a bit of car park protection  ) to follow thro the lines of the car..... Hell teh skin missing of my fingers will grow back and lack of sleep I can catch up at the weekend........

BTW the tyre fitter commented after we got all the wheels fitted

"real nice and makes a change from shiney - on a white car it's strange that black would look so good!"

DOH I thought everything in life was black and white!!!!!

now maybe I should use that as a signature line  Scratch maybe - it's done.........

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery - rip me off by all means.....

I got the centres done locally but - at the end of the day anywhere that does shotblasting and powder coating will sort you out for around £20 a wheel....... (I got a good deal at £50 cos I use them a lot) They'd do another set but they'd almost certainly charge £70...... As they'd know that it wasn't for me......

You need to strip the rims down yourself but it doesn't take long

The polishing is easy - would it help if I wrote a guide?

I was lucky I had a set of wheels to roll around on while I did it all

If you want (and you weren't a million miles away from me) I could lend you a set of steelies and do it all for you in a week turnaround - provide your rims weren't horribly kerbed

£70 for the centres in colour of your choice - sandblasted and powder coated - very durable and easy clean finish

£40 for me to do the rim work - mirror finish - This is about 10 hrs work BTW

£20 for the tyre place to remove the tyres and re-fit once all the works been done.......

Or am I being a little sarcastic

Norfolk - so quite a way from elmsmere port - it's up to you...... How badly kerbed are they - I can do good things but miracles need help from a higher power.......

BTW Gun metal centres with polished rims on a red Gti would seriously rock IMHO - damm fine choice

I did mine in satin black cos I thought it would look good on a white MKIV 8V but they will be transfered to a black GTi MKV when funds permit and I find one with all the toys

Thats 8 hrs drive x 2 - once to drop off and another to collect - with petrol prices - I'd consider looking hard locally.......

I'm getting black and silver VW centres - they are ordered and I'm just waiting on delivery.....

How badly kerbed are your wheel rims BTW - you mentioned in another post they needed welding - thats seriously kerbed if they do.....
