Transmission oil
Please help, I have VW polo 6R 1,2 TDI. Transmission code is mzk. I want to change transmission fluid and I have no idea how much oil is going there and what type of oil can I use. I mean oil specification. Can I use Castrol 75W 80? Thanks

Re: Transmission oil
MKZ is a variant of the basic MQ250 gearbox used in many VAG group cars. The oil specified by VW is their specification G0525512, or G0525527. They call the second one “high performance”. You can buy them directly from VW, though quite expensive. Alternatively, various oil companies sell equivalents. Fuchs are rumoured to make oil for VW, and their Sintofluid FE 75W is claimed to meet both the VW specifications mentioned above. Castrol 75W-80 oil is not the correct specification. I have read that the capacity of the gearbox is 2 litres, but I don’t know this for certain.
