heater "random" hot/cold air blowing

Post by elektrokoba »

Dear Members,

AC works perfectly, and all of suddent the air switches to hot. If I switch off air ventillation to 0 position and switch inside ventillation and back, in most of cases swithes back to normal cool air. Is anybody have any suggestion? Thanks in advance.
I have diagnostic (attached pics.)

I think that the cabin air temperature flap motor assembly is causing this problem and not logging any faults yet, the logged faults are for the cabin air recirc flap valve which also does fail for the same reason.

Normally the reason for these failures is that the positional feedback potentiometer has a dirty track or its wiper surface is dirty.

By demanding Hi - wait a minute - demand Lo - wait a minute - repeat maybe 10 times, can end up with the potentiometer track staying clean for a few hours, or days or weeks, but replacing these flap motors with new assemblies will always be the only long term fix.
