Splitting headlight

Hey! Just bought a r line polo with xenon headlights & casing is cracked, have a spare lense so want to replace it instead of buying a whole new light started to split it but having a lot of trouble trying any ideas how to melt the glue to remove it quicker picture attached of the light

some did that putting the headlight in a closed box and make a hole for heat gun/hairdryer and heat the box for 15mins.

btw. it looks like led headlights. not bixenon
