hi all !
Got a 1998 1.0l polo and the gearbox is well noisy. basically the gearbox is noisy when you let go of the accelerator and more noisy in 3rd 4th and 5th.
Second time ive had this problem, first time i changed the gearbox with one from another polo from the scrapyard, together with a new clutch from euro car parts.
anyone had the same problem and know what to do ? any help will be greatly appreciated !
Also anyone know if valeo clutch kits are any good or are the sachs ones the best.
Cheers
HELP PLEASE !!

If it's the gearbox, then it sounds like a bearing's gone to me. Not expensive to replace, just not a very easy job
However, are you sure it's not a worn CV joint? They make horrible noises when they get worn, especially when you take your foot of the accellerator.
Can't really advise on the clutches, but unless you're really caining the clutch either of them will last you at least 90-120,000 miles, by which time I should think you'll be rid of it anyway
