can't think of too much - make sure everything electrical works properly, it idles fine, check the gearbox isn't rattling when cold (some get worn out easily), take a look at the brake pads / discs as they might need replacing at this mileage - also you will need cambelt at 60k so consider this when bargaining. the engine should still be nice and tight at that age - so walk away if it's smoking or seems thrashed.

Cambelt will be between 2 and 4 hours generally, depending on how good your mechanic is and how much of a pain in the backside your car is to work on
Took me about 3 hours to change mine for the first time, but that's a very easy car to work on. The part itself shouldn't be more than a tenner or so really.. so working on £35 / hour that'd be £80-£150.. ish.
