Fuel filter part number?

I was going to do the fuel filter while I was doing an oil change this time but I'm struggling to find a part number.

I had a little look on 7zap and it bought up two numbers 1K0 201 051 E, which looks like it's been superseded by 1K0 201 051 M. Scrambled under the car, and the one fitted is 1K0 201 051 K and is also marked 6.6 bar which I assume is what the internal pressure regulator is set at. My suspicion is I've looked up the wrong part, or they are wrong (They are listed at 5.2 Bar) I know the obvious answer is buy what's already on the car but I'm just curious.

Sorry, My-Bad. I looked up the wrong part. 1K0 201 051 K. Is the correct number. Apologies for being a derp.

What is the frequency for replacement set by? Mileage or time? My Polo is fixed service intervals.

No replacement period, and your local VW dealership would normally not stock one, so it would be an ordered in part, unless you buy the same from somewhere like ECP, I think that VW Group use or used to use UFI branded ones in the factory, "made in China".

The plan is to replace when faulty or suspected of causing issues.

I know that it sounds like a smart plan just to replace them at maybe 8 or 10 years/80K > 100K miles, but I bought all the bits for my wife's previous 2002 Petrol Polo - and still have them stored in the airing cupboard, that car was traded in in August 2015 for a new Polo.

I've written this too many times, but, my main concern, and maybe not justified, was, that I might end up with a leak or damaged "push on" fitting, so I bought the correct, for that car, repair kit for a couple of the "push on" fittings - I'm not even sure if VW Group still use the same size of couplings.

Some youtubers seem just to force the couplings off the filter stubs, but I think the correct plan is to depress the locking tab which will be coloured, and then the fitting can easily be pulled back off the filter stubs.

Edit:- I know it is more expensive, but I prefer Mann filters - VW Group use a lot of Mann air and oil filters, and maybe now even fuel filters. Plus the Mann one has 6.6Bar stamped on the regulator end.

Another Edit:- changed 8 - 10 miles to 8 - 10 years!!

Ah, right I thought I was having another "senior moment" and just not been able to find the information.

I think you make a good point about swapping out parts in general. Cars are not like they used to be with solid metal pipes for almost everything. Plastics in particular don't always stand up that well to the harsh environments and the passage of time like old cars did. Breaking a connector, having a pipe crack or fastener break is always on the cards as the vehicle ages. I've already replaced the little crankcase breather because it just cracked. Doesn't seem to be an isolated case either a few have had the same issue.

I've had a look this morning and the filter looks in surprisingly good condition, so I think I'm going to leave it be, the cars only covered under 35K anyway.

I do have a rasp on start-up on occasion so the timing chain will probably be my next big spend next year. I was considering just replacing the tensioner to begin with, as the issue seems to be a combination of chain stretch and wear in the tensioner.
