my car seems to be very strange at the moment:
sometimes when i start it up it just dies straight away, sometimes its fine
sometimes i will drive off and the indicators wont work so i pull over turn off the ignition and start it up again and they are fine? wierd
also i was driving out of a school car park when my car ground itself to a stop as if i had applied the brakes the power steering went and almost seemed jammed and the car stalled.
this morning it died about 10-12 times when trying to start it no matter how many revs i gave it it started then died.
all this is kind of worrying me a little bit as i dont want to get stranded anywhere. could it be the engin management computer thing ( sorry dont know anything about cars), bubble in fuel line for starting thing?, buggered up imobaliser for indicator thing?
please can someone give me some ideas so i dont look a complete novice when i go into the garage, dont want them to think they can take advantage of my lack of knowledge.
throttle bottle/ temp sensor for starting problem?
probles problems problems help me please!

try this for a start:
disconnect battery, leave off for about an hour, then turn the ignition a few times to make sure car has no power left in it.
reconnect battery and let ECU try to sort itself out. this can clear error codes in the ECU (sometimes). If this doesn't work then I reckon the ECU has some error codes somewhere - so I'd take it to VW to check out.
P.S were you interested in those blue lights? I might ebay them soon.

mystery solved, cant be assed solving the problem tho
the problem in the end was that the ignition barrel was knackered and not clicking all the way back when the engine was turned off. this caused problems with my lights and indicators etc... however now it is just a knack and i get it to click back everytime now. i will have to mend it if i ever want to sell tho!
