Hi all,
I own a Polo 1.2 Bluemotion (Diesel) (year 2011). This is the registration number in case it's necessary (FY11OWF).
I noticed my headlights for dipped beam are really low intensity, and in the dark I don't really see much.
I wanted to understand what are the most powerful one that I can fit on my car.
I don't wanna spend more than 50 pound, also I don't have a clue of which ones are actually on my car.
Can anyone help me with understand which ones to buy please?

It's not exactly what you asked but, in my case, just fitting a set of Philips X-treme Vision made a lot a difference. I'm quite happy now with the standard halogen headlights.

That is what I did to improve the lights on my wife's old 2002 9N Polo 1.4 16V 75PS, both to the main beams and dipped beams.heftyshooly wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 7:01 pm It's not exactly what you asked but, in my case, just fitting a set of Philips X-treme Vision made a lot a difference. Her current car, another Polo, 2015 1.2TSI 16V 110PS is an SEL so it came with LED headlights that seem to be okay.
Edit:- I tend to buy these bulbs online from mainly Powerbulbs I think.

What's in the car just now, halogen reflectors? I've got a Polo BlueMotion similar to RUM4MO with LED headlights, and one of the reasons I bought it. Honestly it's night and day. I had a Skoda Fabia before with halogen projectors which were awful, and a times dangerous in the rain with limited visibility.
Philips Xtreme bulbs, you're looking at around £30 plus. Think I used to run Bosch performance ones too. Ultimately all these bulbs are probably 55w, but the performance halogen bulbs burn hotter with a whiter light, so theoretically a shorter lifespan. If it's a long winter, one of the bulbs will fail by the spring.
You will probably see better illumination on road signs and reflection on white lines and cat's eyes, but don't expect too much.

Retrofit xenon projectors and hid kit

Can you not adjust them? Both VWs I've had when I've driven them out of the dealership have had their lights adjusted so low I could only see maybe 10 or 20 feet in front of the car - or so it felt. With no passengers in the rear I adjust mine as far upwards as they can go which gives acceptable range and still doesn't cause the light path to dazzle.moksud_xp wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 6:23 pm Hi all,
