Hi guys
I know this is a Polo website but wanted opinions on which car to get out of the Polo 6R 1.4 or the Golf mk6 1.4?
I wanted a 1.4 at first but then saw the Golf had the same engine size so I thought a slightly bigger car with the same engine size? Sure why not
I've been looking at both on Autotrader and the Golf is a little cheaper than the Polo for some reason?
I'm also stuck because I've seen on forums people saying the Golfs 1.4 TSI engine should be avoided or known for its unreliability? Is it not reliable? Is this the reason why they are cheaper than the Polo?
Oh and i'll be getting the DSG version of whatever I choose. So I know around 40k miles there would need to be a DSG service needed or if I get one with over 40k miles i'd need to check if it's been done right?
and I'm coming from a Corsa C so whichever one I get, it would be an upgrade but would prefer something reliable out of the two.
Many thanks in advance guys!

Re: Polo 6R or Golf MK6??
1.4 tsi is cheap to fix all of that issues mainly "chain". The safest motor in golf is 1.6 petrol ( NA engine)
Stay away from 2.0 TDI, its worse than 1.6 TDI. 1.6 TDI is known have injector issues, but 2.0 tdi has high pressure pump that ruins everything down the line ( injectors..)
If you want a reliable VW well go for NA engines.
