Centre cap size

Post by J_hutchison »

Just bought 16" Portago alloys (waiting on delivery)
They need center caps bought for them and from searching online it's either 55mm or 60mm.
Can anyone help out
Cheers

Sorry, don’t know the size you need. However, I’d wait until your new wheels arrive and try the centre caps from your existing wheels. If they don’t fit, then you’ll know you need the alternative size.

I’d also avoid the cheap non-genuine centre caps that are sold on eBay as the quality tends to be quite poor. They often suffer from white worm corrosion, so buying cheap is likely to mean you’d need to replace them early on.

Keep an eye out for 6C0 601 171 on ebay from genuine VW parts sellers/re-sellers - or take a hit if time is tight and order them in via your local VW parts place or CCP - ie Coverdale Car Parts, you will find them on Facebook, Mike is an ex VW Group dealership parts person and is normally cheaper than your local VW dealership, I have used him as a source of genuine parts for years and currently have an order in place and my next one on its way.

As with any parts supplier, give him your reg number, marque and model.

Edit:- by the way, the wheel centres on your current wheels are the same p/n as the wheel centres on your new wheels.

Ideal, I'll just take the centre caps off my current wheel and put on the new ones
