Hey everyone,
I've decided that I'm going to go for the BCM upgrade on my base-spec 6R, Going from a 085 unit to a 087, which should let me fit Remote Central Locking and Cruise Control.
Has anyone here added RCL to a base spec 6R? Or even just done the BCM upgrade? Would love to hear any tips, advice etc.
So far, I've been using this guide to help: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do-y ... odule.html . But it would still be good to hear how you guys have got on with swapping yours.
Cheers!

Re: 6R S BCM Upgrade
The process of the BCM change is not very difficult and many people do it.
From an 085 to 087 should be fairly straight forward
- Save the old coding of the BCM
- Save the old adaptation channels of the BCM
- Save the old coding of the gateway
- Save the old installation list of the gatway
- Paste the new codings, adaptations and installations to the new BCM
Now your BCM is changed. In your case it doesn't require any additional wiring for the BCM swap.
Remote control matching is done with VCDS and you have to enable one bit to de-inactivate the remote controls in the BCM.

Component Protection, I heard that I'll have to get the protection removed before the replacement BCM will work.

Re: 6R S BCM Upgrade
CP does not apply to your Polo 6R, so you can skip that part completely. It does apply to the Polo 6C but that's a different beast from your car.
Forget about CP for your BCM swap. Not needed, no hassle
