Problem with electric window Polo 6R CAYB RHD

Post by zach138 »

Hello to all.

I'm digging up this old thread: https://uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=66998 to ask for your help as I am facing a similar problem with my Polo 6R CAYB 2010 RHD.

*For some reason I cannot reply to that thread, I got "forbidden. contains contacts" error message. Thus I have opened this new thread.

I experience intermittent problems with driver's (mainly) and passenger's window: automation is not working quite often and in the same time the windows are running on the wrong way. When I pull the switch, it should close the window but now the window is coming down when I pull the switch.

Any help/advice on coding will be much appreciated!

Here is the relevant scan with VCDS for your review:

Thanks iichel - I'll do that. May I ask if this is for both windows (driver's and passenger's)? - my Polo is 3-door.

I think 6R0 959 801 T is for the passenger's window, is that right?

Big thanks again - I'll change it, test it and get back with the results.

I come up with an update as I just got access to vcds again.

I did the coding as advised with no result.

What I noticed over the past few days is that although passenger's window works normally (no reverse function, one touch works perfectly), driver's window lost its one touch functionality. I reset it as advised by VW with no result.

Any further advice?

The original codings shown in BCM scan are correct for those modules (WRMs) and a 6R RHD, they are standard codings.

Check the battery status.
If you have a multimeter, do a voltage drop test when starting the engine. (see how it's done on youtube)

Have you recently made any kind of modification to your 6R?

Thanks for your input ciclo.

I haven't done any modification other than changing my RCD310 to a RCD330 HU which was a straight swap. But also in this case the issue was there before that.

I will check the battery status as advised. I am afraid if there is a hardware issue on the window (motor, switches, wiring etc.)

It is possible, but it is unlikely that the strange behavior will occur in both windows at the same time. :|

Ideas / thoughts:
The window switch is cheap, I would start there.
Sometimes people lean on the window when it is half open, this is the worst thing that can happen to all the internal mechanisms of the window, including the WRM. Always try to avoid.

Thanks ciclo - I would check the switch as well.

As you said I never lean on the window, but I am the second owner so don't know what was the first owner doing.

As said in my previous post passenger's window works pretty normal recently but driver's has lost the one touch functionality but the reverse issue seems that it has been gone for now.

I'll make the checks you suggest and come back for an update.

Just a quick question - to remove the switch do I need to remove the whole door panel or not?

It is better to remove the door panel to release the tabs on the switch bracket / holder.
If you try it from the outside you can cause some damage. It is not easy to remove the switch holder in the 6R.

One-touch functionality (comfort) must be restored on many occasions. Read the user manual or do this:
