just had my car serviced at VW and they said i needed new brake pads all round. was thinking of upgrading them to "greenstuff" brake pads. has ne1 got any opinions on these or can recommend anything else? i've heard they're supposed 2b pretty gud!

I'd go for them! They should produce a lot less brake dust from what I've read/heard. I'll be getting them for mine when I have to replace the standard ones...

have u heard anything of the performance of them? are they a lot better than the standard pads?

i had greenstuff pads on my mk3gt. they are prettyv good performers, but don't seem to last very long :cry:

If they don't produce as much dust, how comes they don't last very long???? (pardon my logic)

They do produce dust, its just light grey/silver so you don't notice it!

I had real problems with my last set of greenstuffs, they disintegrated in about 3000 miles. Aparantly they've changed to a compound that doesn't need bedding in, but it doesn't really work. I found that they'd have a good feel from cold, and they'd stop the car really well, but after more than 30 seconds of punishment, they'd cook and you'd get really fade!

I use pagid fast road pads personally- but if you can afford it go for the next line up they're meant to be fantastic, plus the FR are being discontinued so getting hold of them might be difficult..
