Polo 6r ESC light and MFD speedometer.

Post by jamesradley »

Hello, today I installed a new set of wiper stalks to enable the MFD in my 2010 6r, since reconnecting the battery I have had an ESC light on which will not go away, when scanning using Carista it cannot connect to the ABS module.

I was also wondering what coding I need to do to be able to scroll to the digital speedometer on the MFD.

Thanks all in advance.

Did you twist the slip ring?
MFA is byte 1 bit 3 of the instruments IIRC

I have enabled the MFD and I can scroll through all the options but Speed display is not there.

As for the slip ring it's possible that it was at some point as it was loose in the packaging from ebay.

If you replaced the slip ring you need to calibrate the steering angle sender

No you need to do a basic setting in the abs unit but you said you can't talk to it and I don't know how to do it with obd11

so what you need to do is
login / security acces 40468
turn the wheel from lock to lock to lock to lock
steering wheel straight
drive a a bit, very straight, very slow
basic settings
basic setting of steering wheel sensor

assuming your replacement slip ring has a sensor, of course

If anyone needs the instructions for digital speedometer just follow these I found on facebook.

Choose Australia as the region for the cluster and save that code. Then press the left button that’s on the cluster three times. The mileage will begin to flash. Press the right button then the left again. Done. Then it’s just a matter of scrolling through your different displays using the end of the wiper stalk and it should show up
