Couple issues with my 2011 VW Polo Moda (fuel flap/brake pads?)

Post by iamsickofmycar »

Hi,

My Polo Moda has really decided to irritate me today. I would appreciate any help/advice before I decide whether to just book it in for repairs on Monday (luckily it it still under warranty).

First, I tried to drive the car today for the first time in about a week. It started fine, went into gear fine, and I could feel it biting and trying to pull forward - but it literally would not move. It was the same when trying to reverse. I managed to finally get it to move by pumping the clutch/gas until I heard quite loudly what I assume was the rear brake pads becoming unstuck from the disc? I am not a mechanic so have no idea if this is actually right. I'm not sure if this can be put down to a combination of not driving it for a week and the cold weather, or if it is something likely to reoccur which I need to get fixed - any ideas?

Next, when I finally got it to move I went to fill it up and the fuel flap door will not open. I tried locking and unlocking the car, giving it a whack, and I have searched for the manual release inside the boot, but all I can find is the bits for the rear lights. I'm almost out of fuel and have no idea how to get it to bloody open...

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Dont pull your handbrake if its bellow freezing, if you have to, dont pull it all the way up.
