****Bonnet will not open - 2010 polo se****

Hi all,

Hope your all cool.

New to this forum and never had an issue with my car, until now

Problem is my bonnet will not open.

When i pull the bonnet release lever there is no tension at all, just air.

I have taken the lever off and can confirm the cable is still attached.

Previously checked videos online and took the VW badge off the front, inspected behind but this model is completely sealed behind meeaning no way of opening from there either.

To make matters worse the battery is now flat and i cannot take to a garage, which tbh i would like to avoid as sure this is something i can fix.

Does anyone have advice on how the hell i will get the bonnet open.

Try from underside, or try to pry the bonnet upbso you could unbolt the hinge from the hood.

You can release them but it's an absolute pain.

This method works but takes an age, and you run the chance of marking the paint if you are too heavy handed. If the cable is just slack, it possibly same issue as in the video, so will need to be fixed before you dare close the bonnet again.
