Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Have you touched the SC22 10A fuse?
It is probably not seated properly or is blown.
It is the culprit (or the wires that reach it) of the faults detected in Auto HVAC (J255).
This is one of those fuses that you had already changed before this installation, maybe it will give you a clue of what is happening.

Yes I forgot to put it back. It was that fuse
I ordering Osram LED bulbs for the low beam and the side lights.
Maybe t here is an issue with the quality of the LEDs I put in .

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Well, it is possible, but I don't think the problem is the quality, it is possible that the problem (the three detected faults) is due to the low consumption of these LED lamps.
If you want we can try a new BCM coding to try to avoid detected faults due to LED lamps, but the result will be uncertain ...

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Hi Ciclo,
I did not really understand what you meant by 55 HEX. So I simply changed the value from 50 to 55 on bit 16.
What happening is well beyond my understanding.
Here is the first scan. As you see with one fault only.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
I am not using the car daily but yesterday took the Caravelle to work to test the CC Emulator ( which is not functioning at the moment) Anyway The Auto light works the way that it switches to low beam and CH/LH works however, does not switch to high beam and cornering function still not working.
Today I received the two quality Osram W5W LEDs for the front so I replaced them. and Low beam faults come back.
Here is todays scan

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
In this case, 55 'Hex' is the hexadecimal representation of Byte 16, instead of the binary representation (01010101).
In any case, it has not had any effect, and it is due to how the halogen lights are parameterized in the BCM (in your case), which in turn depends on how Byte18 is coded.
The multiple combinations of 'Bits' in Byte18 parameterize the set of lights with the correct values for each original PQ25 model.
For your new OSRAM Low Beam LED lamps you will have to try different codings on Byte 18 (63, 65, 67), and maybe play with the PWMs on Byte 16 for Low Beam.
With the 67 Hex value in Byte 18 very good results are obtained when some people retrofit aftermarket headlights, but these headlights usually have a respectable Amp draw.
You can also go back to the original halogen lamps, you can be sure that the Autoscan will be clean of faults.
I believe that with VCP you can modify some parameters for fault detection, but I prefer not to do it, so I do not recommend it, I would rather live with the detected faults in the Autoscan if there is no warning lamp in the instrument panel.
High beams and SCLs should work properly, according to Autoscan, ... in previous posts you commented that the high beams were working properly viewtopic.php?p=580324#p580324, but since you are doing work on the T41 connector, any result is possible ...
as I told you, it would have been better to do the BCM Max and the 7E0 stalks adaptation/wire installation first, and later the CCE installation.
My recommendation is that you finish the work on the T41 connector for CCE and then do a report on the operation of the lights.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Thank you the clarification Ciclo.
I will play around with the coding and see what else can I try, but no warning light on dash so I am very happy an thank you all your support.
As for the high beam I did not say it not working. It working fine with the switch. The Auto function not switching the high beam when the road clear ahead. I am not sure if VW does this function, but my CRV in auto function changes between low and high beam on motorway.
I might need some help with the emulator. Should I open a new thread for that?
At the moment I messed up something very badly and no horn no functions at all on the steering wheel and it does not lit up either.
I will order some terminals and remake the T41/ 26,27,28,30 31 wires because the originals damaged during removal and crimping probably was not a good idea.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Well the first thing, don't worry excessively and have a totally positive attitude, we are going to solve this mess, nobody is perfect! .... except me....
You do not need to open any new thread, this thread is your total property, the masters of the universe have granted it to you forever so that you can contact the rest of the universe. I am sure that we can solve all your concerns about the T41 connector.
We will need pictures of the current state of your T41 connector, to better guide you on what to do, please take pictures from various angles from T41 connector.
In the same way you read the adaptation channels for the BCM MAX 7E0 D viewtopic.php?p=574089#p574089 read the current BCM C channels and please provide me with a link to the file. I have to see what happens with the high beam in Auto, it should work the same way as in your CRV.
Thanks Alex.
We will solve it!

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
I think I did not understand you well ...
You mean that with the switch in Auto position, it doesn't automatically switch between high beam and low beam, it's right?

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
I am perfect too just lost my patience very very fast and that makes me non perfect sometimes. but positive attitude helps me convince my self that I am still perfect
I feel so special that the whole universe masters here at my disposal. Really appreciate it
Here is the link for the log CSV https://drive.google.com/file/d/168LyQP ... sp=sharing
The installation of the CCE requires some explanation. As I mentioned some mistakes happened at my part even dough I am perfect too
The wire colours are not the genuine colours on the 8E0971980 Coupling because the little MQS terminals broke into the T41 connector. It happened maybe my lack of patience so I had some wires with the correct terminals on them and crimped the onto the original wires.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Alex, it is possible to have the automatic function to switch between LB and HB, but it is necessary to install a camera to make it possible.
For the PQ25 the camera is installed in the rear view mirror.
This function is called High Beam Assist or Light Assist.
Related information https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?p=503577#p503577
... but you already knew this, right?
Returning to the matter, your high beams work perfectly in the Auto position ... manually.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Some MQS terminals on the T41 connector are difficult to remove, or at least have a strange way of being removed.
When the MQS terminals are removed from the T41 slots, the metal retaining tabs on the terminals are jammed a second time during the removal stroke.
It is necessary to use a small hook (L shape) to re-release the tab from the terminal. You can even make this L-shaped hook out of an office clip.
This is the hole where you can insert the hook to release the MQS terminal tab a second time:
I recommend using a flashlight to illuminate the hole in its entire depth and to be able to press on the tab of the exact terminal that you are releasing.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Hi Ciclo,
No I was not aware of the camera unfortunately. It not something I wish to do right now.
I planning to retrofit heated windscreen at some point in the future.If/ when I doing I will consider the mirror upgrade.
I am extremely happy with results as it is right now
May I ask why should we bother with MQS terminals remaining bits removal?
I spent two hours in the morning without a success.
They are not connecting to anything anyway. The stalk does not have any pins for those locations.
I believe the problem is in the wiring of the new connector. I was distracted many times during I was doing that and it is possible that I mixed up some wires.
Is it possible?
It is very strange that the SW lost all functionality and does not lit up at all also the horn operates with the 0/1 button only
I have some wiring diagrams for the T5.1 I will try to identify the wires by colour and confirm whether I put them in a right location or not.
