Was battery voltage, got it to accept long coding, e20 interior lighting now works. Side lights still on permanently though

Changed patch of auto lights from T17/16 To T17/5. Side lights now work as expected

No glass, no panels, boot is half closed up from all wheel drive conversion. Just you wait! It'll be back on the road by March

Ill sort the headlight flasher on Monday when I get back to the car. Will be working on the heated seat loom today and tomorrow, came yesterday from kufatec but will need adapting for the 6J hazard switch

Hi all again, long time no speak.

I am nearing the final stages of my AWD 6J build, painting in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime I had the cabin stripped down and used it as an opportunity to tidy up the auto lights retrofit completed at the end of last year.

I ran a full test on all functions of once the loom got put back in and noticed that the auto lights are not working (dipped and full beam not turning on when in auto mode)

- I have the coming home lights/ leaving home lights set to dipped beam and they come on.
- I put the light sensor in a sealed box plugged in, ensuring it was dark enough and it did trigger.
- I also did an output test on the dipped beam from the BCM and they switched on individually perfectly fine.

I have attached an image of the long coding, best I could do without VCDS to hand at my new workshop, I plan on getting it soon.



@iichel or @ciclo looking at the long coding, can you see anything obvious as to why the auto lights aren't working even though all output tests work?

I thought it could potentially be because the engine wasn't running? but I didn't think that was the behaviour of the auto lights.

Headlight level switch also isn't working, but that's probably just me made a mistake so will be running through that tomorrow.

I know there is a rain and light recognition sensor fault, but it works for coming home/leaving home lights and they only switch on when the RLS is in a closed box (best way to simulate darkness)

Maybe it is necessary to code a few more Bytes, it depends on everything new that you have installed. I would not worry too much, finish installing what corresponds to this magnificent project, then we will code accordingly.

Hi guys,

Running into some trouble getting the 6J project started.

Running output tests it looks as though the fuel injectors and HPFP are not getting a signal to engage. Diagnosed with my mechanic that is may be due to an issue in the instrument cluster (code U11100) function limitation due to mixed messages.

I used what code reader I had to look a bit further into it. And the code in the IC is: 12653568. From Googling this appears to be a communication issue to the haldex controller for all wheel drive.

I'm surprised that this would stop the car from starting, but as it's canbus and it's feeding back information to the instrument cluster it isn't impossible.

Can anyone help with this? I'm worried if it's not this it's an issue with my wiring or the BCM/coding. I am going to get on VCDS to disable the AWD in the can gateway as I will be running a standalone system for it anyway.

Any help would be really appreciated. Really worried I've done something to brick the car now

Hi all,

back again, car is back together and i also got it running! retrofitted pano roof is also working thanks to iichel!

Below is autoscan, only trivial issue left is that I can't seem to get the auto lights working. I changed byte 18 to hex 61 as suggested, but no change. output tests all work as expected, dipped, full, side lights, and leaving home lights work. just auto lights aren't. Also the rain sensor function isn't working either for some reason.

any help would be great! getting close now
