4000rpm gets you a decent amount of progress, but it means the next gearchange makes the revs drop to around 2500rpm.
2500rpm is a dead-zone in my car, the car really bogs down and takes an age to pick up from there again.
Seems the same as my car tbh, can't say it bogs down at 2500rpm though. Sometimes get a bit of turbo lag if i'm not pinning it but feels linear in terms of torque delivery.
My car is stock also in terms of engine and gearbox.

Had mine updated from stage 1 to stage 1+ (from 255 hp to 272 hp)
Can't upload the file, even when I compress it
Interesting. I held off on the remap for now, Insurance + remap was in excess of £1200, not what I wanna spend for 50bhp I’ll wait until it’s out warranty and then give it a go.
You feel much different? I watched a video of a 300hp vw polo that clocked 15 seconds 100-200kmph and that seems very slow. What does yours do it in?
My golf gti TCR does it around 12.9 seconds on a nice day stock everything. Wish I could get my polo to that speed

Probably the diff on the Golf minimising wheelspin and tramping playing about factor.
@Jackgti Mine did it in 14,5 sec. I would not call it slow, in comparison to 20+ sec stock.
It feels perfect in combination with the DSG adaptation. The higher torque also makes a big difference, it's not only about hp as many seem to believe

Been quoted £350 for a Stage 1 from a reputable tuning company. Would get 235bhp / 420nm torque when all said and done.
Just wondering is a DSG remap recommended as well for a Stage 1?
I've heard many people and business state that a DSG remap is not required for stage 1, but everyone that has had a DSG remap has spoken extremely highly if it. Not heard a bad thing about a DSG remap yet.

Thanks mate. Will ask if that's something they can provide as well.

When I was looking everywhere was offering 250ish on a stage 1. Might be worth asking why its lower?

The remap is from a company called Quantum tuning (done by an approved garage) but don't really fancy it as I can't find any reviews from other GTI owners. But yeah, a lot of people have got 250bhp from a Stage 1 so would want similar figures.
