Move/extend/duplicate USB ports to glove box

Hello,

Few of you might be using or have seen/heard of the CarPlay adapters that plug in and then give your wireless CarPlay. Something like the CPlay2Air device.

I have something similar but it’s annoying that I have to use the usb in the center and the little box sit in the cubby hole too.

Want to figure out a way to get to the USB port and potentially extend the port on a cable so it can say go in the glove box. Thus hiding the wireless CarPlay adapter.

Anyone on here attempted such mod? I’m thinking if I can get the module out I could at a basic level solder corresponding wires to the pins on the pcb and route cable into glovebox. Anyone know if it’s easy to get that usb module out?
