It's correct, I do not know why I thought your Ibiza is a SC.
Essentially it is the same, the fault is because there is no wire from the BCM T73b/12 to the reversing light/s.

I will check my wiring again and respond when I've wired the tail lights. I hope I also find the cause for the fault in the Climatronic.

Hopefully i find the cause of the fault codes fast.. :roll:

Hey,
Yesterday I managed to rewire the reverse light. Furthermore, I wired, installed and coded the new cruise control stalks.

All fault codes are now gone and everything works.
Also the climatronic fault code is gone, although I have changed nothing. :?
DRL was activated via the dipped beam only had to be re-coded.

So everything works now :D 8)
Will make updates here if I retrofit something new.

With the same BCM coding I provided you, except DRLs coding (disabled), and CH/LH through foglights.

I guess your Ibiza didn't have the T17/3 wire for DRLs due to the type of Original light switch. It is just a thought.
Details as exhaustive as this are difficult to know within the immense amount of volkswangen vehicles for PQ25 platform around the world.

Hi ciclo,

great work helping with this retrofit!

I previously had a Seat Ibiza 6J 1.2tdi CR Ecomotiv with Rain sensor, Auto lights and all (BCM 88). I completed an engine swap (2.0tdi) which forced me to revert to BCM 87. I have since then retrofitted the rain sensor, anti dazzle mirror.

I have a BCM 88 sitting here from my previous wiring system that I am looking to retrofit in. (BCM87D - BCM88D) to gain the auto light and CH/LH functionality again. I am hoping to follow this thread to complete this retrofit however I have an open point I was hoping you may be able to answer for me.

I have a set of custom built headlights, with Daytime running lights that run off the normal side light circuit. I used to have it so when CH/LH was activated at night, the side lights would come on, but I would also like the side lights to be on with ignition, when the light switch is set to the "AUTO" position. is this possible with an 88D BCM setup?

If you require any further info please let me know, I plan to begin the retrofit in the next couple days so will be able to get auto scans for you from VCDS if need be.

If with the new BCM coding the problem of the dimmer (E20) is not solved you'll have to change the terminal from T73b/4 to T73b/1 to feed the 58d signal. (same new coding)

It is possible that according to your personal tastes or installed bulbs (LEDs, etc) you want to change some behavior of the lights (DRLs, or others), so the new coding can be modified.

Hey Ciclo! Read alot of your very detailed posts so first of all thanks for that. I have an Ibiza 6J with the rain/light sensor from factory.

I got the light switch with the AUTO function and found some instructions on the internet (see below) on how to connect everything

Lightswitch connector:
- Green/white wire (city light? I dont know how to translate that) move from pin 16 to pin 13
- Create a loop betweet pin 12 and pin 16
- Add a cable from pin 12 to BCM T73a (black plug) pin 37
I did all of that and activated RSL in VCDS. All the lights work, the switch works fine I tested all the modes. Only thing not working is the automatic lights.
The rain/light sensor is active, i double checked in VCDS. Any tips on what to check or what to change? Do i need more wiring?

Try this new BCM coding:
3A882BE8C8610100013007B07ECB9EC88F80600F7E8C2009200000000000

If that electrical installation that you show is adequate, the Automatic lights function should work without problems in your Ibiza 6J, in addition to the CH and LH functions.

Is it possible to install Xenon lights with this BCM or do I need to change BCM?
And the other mod I wanted was heated seats.

If I remember correctly, during the production process of Ibiza 6J different types of Xenon headlights were installed in it (maybe I'm wrong), and I also think I remember that one of the BCMs used for one of those Xenon headlight types is the BCM that you currently have installed. 6R0 937 088B (Re4).
Do a search on the net ... (Part No SW: 6R0 937 088 B HW: 6R0 937 088) ... maybe you will find some autoscan of a 6J with the xenon headlights installed, ... and the unit for the automatic headlight leveling.
I recommend that you contact iichel, he had a similar situation with his 6R "Bluemotion" ... and because I'm sure you will understand each other perfectly (NL).

The heated seats are highly recommended, it's a great upgrade.
