Polo Gt blue motion 2013

HI All
Just purchased my first Euro Car
got it home and my fog lights aren't working one was for a few minutes while i was testing the one that wasn't then that one stopped too.... only tested at 5v at the connector plug if that helps..
any ideas?

@boomtheroom; presumably you are referring to front fog lights? Your car has xenon headlamps which were an extra cost option in the UK. On UK spec 6r Polo Blue GT cars, the standard fit front fog lights were deleted if the first owner specified the optional xenon headlamps. Maybe the same applied to the 6r Polo Blue GT in New Zealand?

When the 6r was face-lifted and became the 6c, cars fitted with optional xenon headlamps did get front foglights.

If you were referring to rear fog lights in your post, the 6r / 6c polo has only one rear fog light - in the right hand rear light cluster on right hand drive cars.

That is not a fog light but a static cornering light. It will light up when your low beams are on and you turn the wheel at low speed.

If your car had front fog lamps, they’d be in the lower outer front grille sections - circled in red below;

The inner section of the bi-xenon headlamp unit on the Polo Blue GT houses the static cornering lamp - part number 12 on the diagram below. It illuminates when the car is travelling below a certain speed (sorry, don’t know what the speed is) and the car is cornering - the purpose being to provide additional illumination while performing manoeuvres such as turning into or out of junctions.

Suggest you do a Google search on ‘2014 VW Polo Owner’s Manual’. There are some for sale on the UK eBay site (see below) so there’s a good chance you’ll find one online nearer to you (the spec of the UK Polo may differ to that of the NZ Polo, so the UK version of the manual might not be 100% relevant to your car).

For it?

If this is brand new car the user manual would be in passenger glove box. (Worse dumped somewhere in boot)
If this is old car still it could be there or you can check with previous owner.

This would be no use to either of them if car is not there
